Bette Yetman began working with Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey in May 2018, with directions from the Board of Directors to support MK’s effectiveness and efficiency through the development of programs and supporting staff. She has been engaged with the recommendations from the Mindbloom report, including an organizational review and movement to a new strategic planning process that involves all employees in achieving MK’s goals.

Her background includes work with Cape Breton University, the Cape Breton District Health Authority and prior to that, with the Nova Scotia Nurses’ Union and Dalhousie University.

She enjoys spending time with her husband Paul, her pets Trixie and Elza, being in her garden and driving her 4th VW Beetle.
