Jetta is a proud fluent Mi’kmaq speaking woman. She believes Mi’kmaq language is the heart of its culture. She espouses the values of being Mi’kmaq. She lives the principles of sharing and caring in her community of Eskasoni First Nation. She is hard working, independent and a loving
mother to two daughters, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren with two additional great grandchildren expected in late spring.

Jetta began her secretarial career at the age of 17 and since worked in that field for 54 years. Her first professional employment was with Eskasoni Housing Development. Since then, she has worked in Municipal, Provincial, Federal and First Nation governments as well as several years in the private sector. She is currently employed at Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey in Office Administration. Her tagline is: “What you see is what you get. If you don’t like it, move along.”

Her hobbies are reading and owns a very interesting diverse library. She enjoys architecture, cosmetics, crocheting, dancing, fashion, gourmet cooking, interior design, leisure studies in literature, travel and loves on-line shopping.
