Ambrah joined the Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey team in 2021. Ambrah has been involved in Education for 14 years, teaching elementary grades for 3 years at Mi’kmawey in Potlotek and 9 years at LSK in Sipekne’katik. Ambrah and her partner have two boys and live on Isle Madame. She enjoys boating and other outdoor activities. In winter, Ambrah can be found on the ice playing hockey which is the sport she loves the most. Ambrah received her Certificate in Education at the University of Maine at Presque Isle in 2009 and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University in 2004.
As the Autism Teacher Specialist, Ambrah has spent time researching and learning in order to best serve our teams of teachers and staff within our MK family of schools. Her aim is to offer support, develop best practices and provide what schools need to best serve our students who experience Autism, particularly with a focus on Mi’kmaw ways of being and knowing.
