James Young joins the Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey/Atlantic First Nation Tech Services team after working nearly ten years at Wagmatcookewey School. Prior to joining Wagmatcookewey school, James worked under contract for the Canadian Armed Forces where he worked as an Instructional Systems Designer specializing in designing online courseware.


James holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary’s University, a Bachelor of Education from St.Thomas University, a certificate in Autism Intervention from the University of New Brunswick, and is currently completing his Master of Education in Educational Technology at Memorial University of Newfoundland. James is also a Breathing Space certified Yoga teacher. James has also completed his Apple Teacher certification and his Google Certified Educator (Level 1 & 2).


James is committed to lifelong learning and takes every opportunity to continue on this journey. In his spare time you can find James in Newfoundland or on the lake fishing, boating, and cheering on his favourite sports teams.
