Sheldon Googoo was hired in 2011 as an Assessment Coordinator for Mikmaw Kina'matnewey. Sheldon has a Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick (95) and a Masters of Education in Administration(01) from St Francis Xavier University and currently is working towards a  Masters of Education in Curriculum and Technology for Mount Saint Vincent University.

Before being hired by MK, Sheldon worked for Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board for over 17 years. Sheldon was the first Mi'kmaq Consultant for 4 years and promoted the Mi'kmaq Culture in the classrooms and provided professional development opportunities.

 As part of the Academic service team, Sheldon has worked with Directors, Principals and teachers to create our own MK Literacy Assessment that will be written in January 2022. This is a major step in assessment building.
