-Development of 10 Mi'kmaw language lesson plans
-Community based language sessions were held once a month with all adult learners. The language camps lasted 3 days each and were offered to 14 successful applicants. The participants committed to share their teachings and teach the language in our communities upon completion. During their time in training, they learned and they were given direction on how and when to develop their own learning/teaching curriculum that they can deliver to youth and community members upon completion and graduation.
-Cultural teachings were achieved at each session, bringing in Mi’kmaw knowledge keepers and sharing and learning with the Language group, this was very successful and the participants were grounded in their history and their Mi’kmaw cultural roots. This aspect of the program was tremendously beneficial to the participants in grounding them in their learned experiences with the Mi’kmaw language.
