What is your name, what school do you attend, and what community are you from?
My name is Camden Maloney, I go to Hants East Rural High, and I am from Sipekne’katik.
What clubs, teams, or groups are you involved in at school, and after-school?
In previous years I was apart of stack, which is a group for indigenous and black students to talk about what CCRCE could do better to support us
What’s your favourite subject in school?
My favourite subject in school is business management 12.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be, and why?
If I could go anywhere in the world I would want to go to Egypt to see The Great Pyramid of Giza and to learn more about the culture.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to stay active by going for walks in my community’s trail, working out at the gym
What are your plans for when you graduate, and why?
After I graduated to plan on going to NSCC for 2 years then transferring to Dal to get a bachelor in business management then from there I would like to apply for law school.
What do you see yourself doing ten years from now?
In 10 years I see myself being a successful lawyer and advocating for Indigenous people not only within the justice system but in my community.
Do you have a role model? If so, who? And why?
My biggest role model is Jade Pictou, she is one of the reason I want to go to law school as she is a lawyer not only is she an amazing lawyer but she is also an amazing mother to her kids she shows me that it’s possible to be successful in the career I want.
What is your best memory from your high school years?
My best memory from my high school years would have to be orange heart day.
What is the best thing about your school?
The best thing about my school is that they are always trying to learn what they could do better to support us and they are always open to learning more about our culture.
Who has made an impact on you?
Someone who has made an impact on me is my auntie Holly Robinson she has taught me so much about our culture and history of my community and the people from my community.
Is there something you'd like to see in your school or community that isn't there now?
Something I would like to see my school do is to take the initiative to plan things for culture significant days and not count on the students to plan it or wait for Sipekne’katik education department to do something.

Time moves, days go by, nothing is ever permanent.
