What is your name, what school do you attend, and what community are you from?
My name is Jacie Paul. I attend Allison Bernard Memorial Highschool, and I’m from Eskasoni First Nation.
What clubs, teams, or groups are you involved in at school, and after-school?
I’m in the interact club, and the badminton team.
What’s your favourite subject in school?
My favorite subject is either English or biology.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be, and why?
I would go Hawaii because of their culture, and to go see sight seeing.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to hang out with friends, go to Starbucks, be outdoors, and shop.
What are your plans for when you graduate, and why?
After I graduate I’m attending Cape Breton University for my Bachelor of Arts in psychology, then go to Dalhousie for my masters degree in Psychology. I want to become a clinical psychologist to help support my community.
What do you see yourself doing ten years from now?
I see myself being a youth clinical psychologist, to help the youth in my community and give better resources for those who need it.
Do you have a role model? If so, who? And why?
My role model has to be my mother Jeannine Paul. She has made me who I am today, and I couldn’t thank her enough for everything she does for me and my family.
What is your best memory from your high school years?
Definitely my Grad trip. I had the most fun on that trip with all my friends, made long lasting memories, and got a great tan.
What is the best thing about your school?
My principal Newell Johnson is honestly the best thing about our school. She is truly a superhero and I couldn’t picture our principal being anyone else.
Who has made an impact on you?
My family has made the biggest impact on me just from supporting me everyday, to motivating me to be my best in every aspect of life. I couldn’t have asked for better supporters and I love them all so much.
Is there something you'd like to see in your school or community that isn't there now?
I would love to see a library or study area for teens and hopefully a Starbucks.
