2025 Graduate Interview - Carly Brooks

What is your name, age, school, and what community are you from?

My name is Carly Brooks and I am 20 years old. I attend LSK in Sipekne’katik.


What clubs, teams or groups are you involved in at school and after-school?


Dance, drama and the Love program.


What’s your favourite subject in school?


My favourite subjects are Science & music.


If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be, and why?

I'd go to the Paris Catacombs because they are interesting and I want to learn more.


What do you like to do in your spare time?


Arts & crafts.


What are your plans for when you graduate, and why?


Going to NSCC in their Pharmacy Technician program because I like compounds, and other
science stuff.


Do you have a role model? If so, who? And why?


My role model is Uncle Mike- he is a successful, independent business owner and I would like to do the same.


What is your best memory from your high school years?


The hands-on experiences, the Fishing Derby, Tree Tapping and our grad trip to Greece!


What is the best thing about your school?


It’s culturally oriented.


Who has made an impact on you?


Watson, Mackie, Autumn & Kristine- they’re supportive and open my eyes to possibilities.


Is there something you'd like to see in your school or community that isn't there now?


More course options- like physics, chemistry, biology.


Do you have any words of advice, a personal favourite quote, or a thank-you?


Thank you to everyone who helped me through high school- it was tough.


Advice: Don’t be afraid to try new things; everything is a learning experience. I learn
something new every day.
