The gym at L’nu Sipuk Kina’muokuom (LSK) School in Sipekne’katik was alive with creativity and culture during the Fine Arts Festival this month. Students from MK schools across the province came together to celebrate and share their talents.
The festival featured drumming, vibrant artwork, and a mix of traditional and modern dance. From jingle and fancy shawl dances to hip-hop-inspired choreography, students demonstrated both cultural pride and artistic expression. Tables around the gymnasium and along the hallway were lined with student artwork that reflected personal creativity and traditional artwork such as quillwork, beading and ribbon skirt making.
Families, community members, and Elders attended the event which was a true celebration of youth, culture, and creativity.
