Our 2025 Annual Indigenous Youth Trades Fair Brings Hands-On Learning to Halifax

October 31, 2025

The 2025 Annual Indigenous Youth Trades Fair was held in Halifax from October 15–17, bringing together nearly 80 Indigenous youth from across Nova Scotia, with priority given to Mi’kmaw students in grades 11 and 12.

Throughout the three-day event, participants explored a wide range of skilled trades through hands-on activities at the Nova Scotia Trades Hall. From trying new tools to learning directly from experienced mentors, youth gained a real feel for the opportunities available in the trades sector.

Outside of the workshops, students enjoyed a movie night, cultural activities, and a bit of shopping during their free time—creating memorable experiences both inside and outside the classroom.

The Trades Fair continues to be an exciting space for Indigenous youth to discover their strengths, build confidence, and envision future careers in the Trades.
