What is your name, what school do you attend, and what community are you from?
My name is Maia Maloney, i attend Herh, and I am from Sipekne'katik.
What’s your favourite subject in school?
My favourite subject in school is biology.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be, and why?
If i could go anywhere i would love to go to Spain and see a friend that i met during her exchange year in nova scotia.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to hangout with my friends and have fires.
What are your plans for when you graduate, and why?
After i graduate i will be continuing school, but first enjoy summer traveling with my close friends.
What do you see yourself doing ten years from now?
10 years from now i will be working in the Nicu hopefully, living somewhere out of the maritimes.
Do you have a role model? If so, who? And why?
My mom is my role mode; her determination and selflessness inspire me too be better.
What is your best memory from your high school years?
My best memory from highschool was grade 9, it all felt very new and fun.
What is the best thing about your school?
The patience staff have to help you succeed.
Who has made an impact on you?
When Mrs.G worked in the Cat room it was truely brightening to see her energy daily. Even just a small conversation or wave, there was never a time i doubted her happiness and it created an enviroment where it was common to be kind.
Is there something you'd like to see in your school or community that isn't there now?
In school, Something i would like to see is the continuation of ensuring indigenous students have safe spaces to celebrate culture and to work toward their futures with proper guidance.
