Annual PD Day Brings Educators Together Across the Province

November 25, 2025

On November 3rd, educators and support staff from across the province came together for our annual Professional Development Day, one of the largest gatherings in our system each year. Teachers, principals, bus drivers, educational assistants, and guidance counsellors met at five different sites, each offering sessions tailored to the needs of their specific roles.

This year’s PD Day focused on practical, meaningful learning that strengthens the work happening every day in our schools. Each site offered targeted workshops and hands-on sessions designed to build skills, deepen understanding, and support the unique responsibilities of every group. Whether it was classroom strategies, student support practices, leadership development, or transportation safety, participants had the chance to learn from experts and from each other.

The feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive. Participants shared that the sessions felt relevant, engaging, and directly connected to their work. Many noted how valuable it was to gather with colleagues from other communities to share ideas, reconnect, and feel part of a larger network committed to Mi’kmaw student success.

The success of this year’s PD Day reflects the dedication of our staff and the strength of our collective efforts. Thank you to everyone who participated and to the teams who worked behind the scenes to make the day a meaningful experience for all.
