In honor of Administrative Professionals Week, Mi'kmaw Kina'matnewey staff had the pleasure of visiting our schools to share tokens of appreciation with the dedicated administrative staff.
These individuals are the heartbeat of our schools, keeping the daily operations running smoothly and welcoming everyone who walks through the doors with warmth and professionalism. Whether they are managing busy schedules, supporting students, or keeping everyone organized, their hard work does not go unnoticed.
Thank you to all our administrative assistants for everything you do. Your contributions are deeply valued, and we are so grateful to have you on our team!

At the end of March, Mi'kmaw Kina'matnewey visited YCHMS to offer a hands-on ribbon skirt/vest workshop. The students really enjoyed the opportunity to work on this project together!

Students from across our communities had the opportunity to come together for some Waltes tournaments this month.
Tournaments for elementary and high school students were held in Membertou and Wagmatcook but due to unforeseen circumstances, the middle school tournament has been postponed.
Everyone had a fantastic time engaging with this traditional game, and competition was fierce! A big thank you to all the students, staff, and community members who helped make the recent tournaments so much fun!

At the end of April, Mi’kmaw Community Education Directors met with Regional Executive Directors of Education to strengthen relationships and work together on shared priorities. The gathering focused on building meaningful connections and developing action plans to better support Mi’kmaw students attending provincial schools across the province. Through collaboration and open dialogue, we continue working toward stronger partnerships that help ensure student success and well-being.
