Bridging Generations Through Technology: MK offers Elders and iPads Program

April 30, 2025

In a world that’s constantly evolving with technology, staying connected can be challenging—especially for older adults. That’s where Elders and iPads steps in. This initiative is changing lives by providing iPads to community elders and offering personalized support to help them navigate the digital world.

The program, launched with the goal of helping elders feel more connected and comfortable with new technology, supplies participants with iPads and guides them through everything from setting up email accounts and using video calls to exploring hobbies like digital photography, online games, or streaming films.

The initiative doesn’t just empower elders; it fosters meaningful intergenerational relationships and builds a stronger, more connected community. In April, we were able to offer the program in Annapolis Valley First Nation but we hope to be able to offer it in all of our communities across the province over the coming months.

In a time when technology often divides generations, Elders and iPads is proving it can also bring them closer together—one swipe, tap, and smile at a time.
