Exciting News from MK: The First Autism Summer Camp

MK is thrilled to announce that the first Autism Summer Camp took place in Eskasoni this July. A total of thirty-two campers, aged 5 to 11, participated in the week-long day camp, which included daily activities and plenty of fun. Each camper was paired with their own camp counselor, ensuring personalized support.

• Eskasoni School Board who provided the camp's location at ESK Immersion, along with staff members and transportation for field trips.
• Nepisulti’kul who supplied staff, resources, and camp materials.
• Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey who funded field trips, staff training, resources, and camp supplies.
• Eskasoni Youth Access Space who offered a camp counselor.
• Autism Nova Scotia who delivered training for camp staff and established a framework for the camp.
