The 2026 Mi'kmaw Sport and Leadership Conference, held March 27–29 at the Delta Dartmouth, brought together 40 community sport leaders, recreation staff, volunteers, and coaches for a transformative 3-day event.
Participants engaged in professional development across topics including community sport systems, program planning, events and volunteer management, Mi'kmaw language in sport, social media safety, and NAIG planning.
The conference created a fun, informational, and empowering experience that strengthened connections across the Mi'kmaw sport system while enabling participants to network with coaches and leaders from other communities and deepen their knowledge of community sport delivery.
