Project Overview
Echoing the adage“We are all Treaty people”, TENS is a partnership between MK, the Province ofNova Scotia, and Millbrook First Nation. The work is focused on creating opportunities to learn about who the Mi’kmaq are, historically and today; What are Treaties and why they are important; What happened to the Treaty relationship; and how do we reconcile our shared history to ensure justice and equity?
The MOU identifies three areas of educational focus: public schools, provincial public servants ,and the general public. Continuing to build an understanding of historical and contemporary Mi’kmaq context across Nova Scotia is a critical ongoing step as we continue to build stronger relationships and work towards reconciliation.
