We held a video contest this month and we had some amazing contributions! Mi'kmaq youth between the ages of 13-21 were asked to create a TikTok style video under the theme of creating safe, inclusive and welcoming spaces in schools
The criteria for the video was that the content must celebrate and/or support Two Spirit Youth and it also needed to fulfill at least one of the following categories:
1) Your submission includes an Elder
2) Your submission includes a Community Leader
3) Your submission includes an Educator
4)Your submission is your own message as a member of the Two Spirit Community and from the School Community
We had three winners for the Tiktok style Two Spirit Video Contest
1.Rose Hotson Pictou Landing First Nation School for two submissions
2. Bryden Paul Pictou Landing First Nation School
3. Maria Young, Eskasoni (St.FX. student)
Each student will receive a $400 cash prize for each submission and their video will be used to create an educational resource video in support of Two Spirit Youth.
