Our Youth Leadership Committee came together for their first gathering, marking the start of an exciting journey ahead. This committee is made up of youth from each of our communities who are dedicated to language revitilization and leadership.
Over the course of the weekend, youth learned about the committee’s code of conduct, requirements, duties, and overall structure, helping set clear expectations for the year. They also heard from Isaiah Bernard, our youth guest speaker who shared his own experiences and insights. The group spent time discussing their goals and reflected on the importance of Mi’kmaw language revitalization and the role youth play in carrying it forward.
We are looking forward to the great things these youth will be doing in the near future!
